PSG to Present Webinar on Improvements in Process Stability and Performance in High Silica Tread Compounds

CLEVELAND, OH (May 25, 2023) — Polymer Solutions Group (PSG), a polymer additive, dispersion, and release agent manufacturer, today announced that Dr. Gabriel N. Short, Product Innovation Chemist, and Mr. Vince Cremona, Innovation Program Manager, will present a webinar titled “Improvement in Process Stability of Silica Tread Compounds: How the Novel Chemistry of SureMix® S6 Can Protect a Silica Filled Tread Compound from Process Upsets & High Temperatures.” The live webinar, hosted by Rubber News, is scheduled for June 7, 2023, from 8:30–9:30 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Registration is free; registrants will receive access to the webinar recording and additional post-event resources. PSG encourages industry professionals to sign up now, so they don’t miss this important event. This webinar is the second in a series designed to help tire and rubber parts producers meet their sustainability and performance goals and aspirations.

PSG Webinar June 7, 2023 During the webinar, Dr. Short and Mr. Cremona will address the complexities of using higher silica levels in tire tread compounds to enhance wet traction, wear resistance, and handling. They will highlight the challenges that come with these improvements, such as increased viscosity, processing difficulties, and reduced fuel economy. Further complications introduced by high-temperature silanization will also be discussed, as disruptions in this sensitive process can lead to pre-scorch and increased scrap.

To address these issues, the presenters will then spotlight SureMix® S6, a cutting-edge functional process additive from PSG. The pair will present findings demonstrating that SureMix® S6 enhances processability, reduces cycle times, improves extrusion smoothness, and optimizes dynamic characteristics without compromising the inherent properties of the compounds. By leveraging SureMix® S6 in conjunction with high-temperature silanization, the team at PSG is helping formulators unlock the full performance potential of their products without processing limitations.

After the presentation, Joe Pryweller from Rubber News will moderate a brief Q&A with Dr. Short and Mr. Cremona.

Those interested in attending the free webinar can register through RubberNews.com at https://bit.ly/3owQLMX. Unable to attend live? Register now and receive access to the recorded session after the webinar.
