CLEVELAND, OH (March 16, 2023) — Polymer Solutions Group (PSG), a polymer additive, dispersion, and release agent manufacturer, announces that Dr. Rikki Lamba, Managing Director of Additives, is giving a presentation on decarbonization and sustainable solutions for rubber and tire industries at Tire Technology Expo 2023. This year’s event will occur in Hannover, Germany, from March 21 to 23, 2023.
Dr. Lamba’s presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, at 12:00 pm (CET), under Stream 3: Compound Development for Sustainable Mobility. His presentation, “Decarbonization & Sustainable Solutions – Setting the Benchmark with SureMix®.” will discuss how formulators can overcome the downstream processing challenges associated with adopting cutting-edge products and technologies, such as functional polymers, higher surface area fillers, and increased silica loadings. Dr. Lamba will introduce SureMix® as the enabling technology that can mitigate these issues and expand the performance envelope while reducing conversion costs. “While higher silanization temperatures drive silica hydrophobation and can be used to improve compound properties, mixing delays and process disruptions can result in compound pre-scorch that leads to variability in compound performance and elevated scrap levels. As PSG’s Managing Director of Additives, Dr. Lamba draws from over 25 years of experience in technology, business leadership, and marketing to lead PSG’s global expansion and development into new markets and applications. Awarded his doctorate in Polymer Science from the University of Akron, Dr. Lamba holds three U.S. patents on carbon black and dispersion additives. His prior roles include Vice President and General Manager for Alpha’s Global Instrument Business, Vice President of North American Operations for Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira, Vice President of Global Development at Excel Polymers, and Vice President of Technology and Director of Global Marketing at Columbian Chemicals Company.
